During the season the club runs three main tournaments: The ROYAL BANK of SCOTLAND Trophy (for the Club Championship), The WILF WHITE Trophy and The McDONALD Cup.


The club also runs one team competition, on some Tuesday evenings, The SCOTT Cup [for the Club Team Championship]


The club also runs on some Thursdays a Handicap team competition, namely The Tom Woodman Trophy; on other Thursdays The Pearson Pot (a match pointed handicap pairs competition); or The Calder/Martin pairs (the Calder being a handicap cup, and the Martin being a scratch cup); or the Grindon Trophy competition (a handicap competition on an individual basis where one has to have a different partner each time).

The ROYAL BANK of SCOTLAND Cup

The premier match-pointed event held within the club. It is held over 10 nights with the best 6 scores counting.

The McDonald Cup

The McDonald Cup is an aggregate event. It is run over 7 Tuesday nights with the best 4 scores counting. .

The current holders are Brian Thomas and George Martin.

The Wilf White Trophy

The Wilf White Trophy is a match pointed pairs competition.

The competition is run over 7 nights starting on Tuesday, 20th January, 2009 with the best 4 scores counting.

Current holders of the cup are Malcolm Copley and Reg Drysdale.

The Pearson Pot

The Pearson Pot .

The Robin Pearson Pot is played over 7 Thursday Nights, with 4 scores counting towards the overall result. It is a match-pointed handicap event giving a single overall result each evening, and starts on Thursday 9th October, 2008.

The current holders are Colin Edney and Gerald Sandwith.

The Scott Cup

The Scott Cup.

The Scott Cup is played over 7 Tuesday Nights, throughout the Season, with 4 scores counting. It is the premier Team competition in the Club. It starts on Tuesday, 16th September, 2008.

The current holders are Colin Edney, Marjorie McDonald, Tony Houghton, and Sheila Pearson.

The Grindon Trophy

The Grindon Trophy is a Handicap Pairs event, played on 7 Thursday evenings throughout the Season with a different partner on each occasion. 4 results to count.

The current holder is Trish Frew.

The Tom Woodman Trophy

The Tom Woodman Trophy is a handicap team of 4 competition is held over 6 Thursday evenings, with 4 results to count. Pairs are drawn by the Match committee to make up your team.

The current holders are Colin Edney, Reg Drysdale, Ann Ross, and Jim Dougal.

The Calder/Martin Trophies

This is a Pairs event where the scratch result goes towards the Martin Cup, and the Handicap result goes towards the Calder Trophy. It is played over 9 Thursday evenings, and the 6 best results count.

The current holders are: Calder Trophy - John and Jane Smithson; and Martin Cup - Jean Mole and Terry Harris.
